Broadhurst Street Medical Practice

Spring Covid 19 vaccinations

  • Our GP practice will not be providing the Covid-19 vaccination this spring so it’s important that all eligible people visit a walk-in clinic or book a vaccination appointment. All vaccination options can be found on the LLR ICB dedicated vaccination hub here: www.leicesterleicestershireandrutland.icb.nhs.uk/how-to-get-your-vaccine/
  • Covid-19 can still be very dangerous and even life threatening, particularly for older people and those with a weakened immune system.
  • In line with expert advice, this spring the NHS is offering Covid-19 vaccinations to people who are at increased risk of serious illness from the virus – including those aged 75 and over (by 17 June 2025), residents of care homes for older adults, and those with a weakened immune system (see the Green Book).
  • The Covid-19 vaccines provide good protection against severe disease, hospitalisation and can protect those most vulnerable from death.
  • Protection against COVID-19 (either from catching the virus or from a previous vaccination) can fade over time and the circulating strain of the virus can change, so if you are at higher risk of severe illness, it is important that you top up your protection.
  • The vaccine has saved countless lives, prevented thousands from needing to go to hospital.
  • If you or your child are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine this spring, make sure you come forward for this extra protection between 1 April – 17 June 2025.
  • The NHS will be sending out invitations but you do not need to be invited to book your Covid-19 spring vaccine. You can check your eligibility and find all the details about how and when you can get vaccinated locally visit our online vaccination hub: www.leicesterleicestershireandrutland.icb.nhs.uk/how-to-get-your-vaccine/.
